Placing a solid wooden ball into a clear perspex box, the magician asks one of the assisting spectators to tie a knot over the box with the cords that pass through both the ball AND the box that contains it. This is done and the result is a ball which is not only threaded onto two strong cords, but also tied into the box. One spectator holds onto one end of the cords and another holds the other ends. The magician places his hand beneath the imprisoned ball and commands the spectators to pull on the cords, and as they do so, the boxed ball falls free and into your hand beneath. This effect has to be seen to be appreciated and amazingly no skill is necessary in order to perform it immediately.
